A Summer of Tantra, Community, and Expansion
This summer I traveled to France with the intention of expansion. I wanted to immerse myself in Tantra, community living, and creative co-creation. My journey took me to the Sadhaka retreat center, where I volunteered, participated, and eventually stepped into leadership during the Tantra Festival.
The experience was more than I could have imagined - community meals, music, dance, vulnerability, and deep healing.
Week 1
I arrived to the Sadhaka retreat center ready to participate and give of my time. Though, I truly received so much in return.
The first week I became part of the community. We worked in shifts to create the food, environment, we also played, had tantra workshops daily, evening breathwork sessions, ecstatic dances, cuddle puddles, lots of music jams. Everyone brought their own unique energy and the community was vibrant.
week 2
I took a few days away during the second week, and got to experience the amazing hospitality of a member of “Host a Sister,” a Facebook group much like couchsurfing, for women only. I stayed with Sylvie in a small town in France and she really showed my what it’s like to live in France.
Breakfast with enormous cheeseboards, espresso, a city with lots of history that is on the very early side of the Camino de Santiago.
week 3
The real pinnacle of my time in France came with the week of the Tantra Festival. I’m not sure how to explain how special this festival was. I’ll try to find the words.
I actually have Fredrik Swahn’s album on in the background as I write, so I can tap back into the feeling of being there. There was such a current of music that was woven throughout the festival.
It was beautiful to have the singalongs and live music in every whole group (80–100 person) gathering. The coordinators of the festival are Janie and Fredrik, an inspiring couple that brings so much wisdom with tantric workshops and care, loving spaceholding.
I’m in there. Can you spot me?
My role was multifaceted. I was hired on as a part of the leadership team and served the community as one of two “Love Angels.”

We were there to be emotional support for the festival participants, to assist with processing, with grief or trauma that arose. It’s an important role and I did offer a good amount of support over the week, witnessing and holding people in their vulnerable moments.
It felt like such an honor to be that person. The one they could trust, even though a stranger, to hold them through whatever they were going through.
Polarity Day where men and women have separate programming all day. This was such a powerful portal for healing and releasing unspoken grief, fear, being seen by each other. A beautiful day where the space holding was vital.
In addition to that meaningful responsibility, I also taught morning yoga, lead a workshop on Boundaries for People Pleasers, was the DJ/morning dance motivator, supported the women’s day by guiding the 60 women in singing, and helped co-create the ecstatic dance with Frederik, including live drumming during the dance.
This kind of community co-creation for healing is exactly the space I’m meant to be in.

Hat sisters and fellow facilitators. These women rock!
This festival has seven years of history, and Chandra, one of the two incredible owners of Sadhaka said it was the best one yet. How amazing to have been a part of it, to have left a mark on the seventh annual festival and its lovely participants.
This was only a part of my experience. The workshops I attended, the magic I witnessed in healing old wounds around connection, the love and open heartedness of all present.

Thank you Sadhaka. Thank you to all the teachers and wisdom keepers that shared their light throughout the week. Thank you to my fellow Love Angel for being an anchor, ear, grounding space. Thank you to the volunteer team, for the friend-family bond.
I am inspired.

This time at Sadhaka and the Tantra Festival reminded me how much I thrive in spaces of healing, creativity, and heart-centered community.
If you feel drawn to experiences like this, I’ll be holding retreats and gatherings in 2026 that weave together yoga, music, tantra-inspired practices, and space for deep connection. You can always explore upcoming offerings in the events section of this site or join my newsletter to stay updated.
